The next Honda City may feature a completely different design, based on a futuristic concept recently revealed by the Japanese manufacturer.

According to the Indian website Autocar, the future Honda City, expected to arrive in 2028, will use a design similar to the 0 Series, a concept presented by Honda during the Japan Mobility Show.

The future generation of the City will use a new platform and promises a higher level of competitiveness compared to its direct rivals, especially the Volkswagen Virtus. In addition to the bold styling, it will also feature an “affordable” hybrid version, according to the brand.

While the dimensional details have not been revealed, images of the concept show that Honda intends to invest in retro-futuristic lines, giving the car a robust stance and sporty appeal — a major evolution compared to the current generation.

As for its new platform, named PF2, it will use a “multi-energy” matrix and is being designed to be used both in more compact cars and mid-sized vehicles, such as SUVs. All vehicles will have combustion, hybrid, and fully electric versions.
